The silver screen’s newest Lone Ranger will lead one of San Antonio’s longest-running parades this Fiesta.

Armie Hammer, best known for his roles in “Social Network,” “J. Edgar” and “Mirror, Mirror,” will be grand marshal of the 2013 Battle of Flowers Parade. Hammer, who will be joined by his wife, actress and journalist Elizabeth Chambers, is starring with Johnny Depp in this summer’s film “The Lone Ranger.”

The announcement was made by Donna Vaughan today in a news conference at the San Antonio Garden Center in front of Battle of Flowers Association members.

“Friday, April 26, he is all ours,” Vaughan said of Hammer, who moved to San Antonio with his wife last fall to open Bird Bakery on Broadway.
